Do you want to know what are the upcoming Bollywood movies on OTT platforms releasing soon?
Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world in many ways. It has a very deep impact in the field of the finance market, automobile, jobs, environment, travel & tourism, and entertainment too.
All the movies that are scheduled for 2020 to release the big screen, ever since the pandemic hit, multiplexes, and halls have been shut down. But the evolution of OTT platforms has changed the dynamics of entertainment now.
With the almost 3 months of lockdown and the aftermath of lockdown, it is not safe to wander around in the malls and watch movies in the air-conditioned Inox or PVR theatres. Here, come to the rescue of all the subscription-based digital platforms.
We have already seen a few Bollywood new releases that got a direct OTT release like ‘Gulabo Sitabo,’ Tamil movie ‘Penguin.’ Now with the current situation, the movie industry has decided to release its movies directly on the OTT platforms.
With so many platforms available now, different movies are getting a release at different platforms. It has become now easier to watch movies at home on your pajamas. All you need now is to have a subscription to the digital platforms.
Let’s dig in and see what all the movies are coming on which OTT platforms.
The following are the upcoming Bollywood movies on OTT platforms releasing
Dil Bechara (Disney + Hotstar)
The demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has made a big controversy about the Bollywood industry. It’s been just a few days when it grabbed everyone’s attention that the movie is soon going to get a release on 24th July on Disney + Hotstar.
The film is inspired by John Green’s book ‘The Fault in Our Stars.’ You can say the movie is a remake of the Hollywood film of the same name.
The film is said to be a tribute to late Sushant Singh Rajput, and you will see Sanjana Sanghi opposite to Sushant onscreen.
Laxmmi Bomb (Disney + Hotstar)
With the theatres closed during the pandemic threat, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead role film ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ will soon be streaming on Disney + Hotstar on 24th July.
The movie is an official remake of Tamil hit film ‘Kanchana.’ The poster of the film looks promising, and since it is a Akshay Kumar starring film, there are chances that it will be a good one.
If you see the record of his past few films, they are incredibly well, so I hope ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ won’t be a disappointment.
Bhuj (Disney + Hotstar)
From the tweet of Ajay Devgn, his upcoming movie’ Bhuj: The Pride of India’ is going to be streaming on Disney + Hotstar. The film is based on a true story featuring Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role along with Ajay Devgn.
As the title suggests, the film tells the story of bravery and courage. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik in the film.
Sadak 2 (Disney + Hotstar)
Mahesh Bhatt directorial film ‘Sadak 2’ is a sequel to the 1991 film ‘Sadak.’ Along with the above movies, it will also be getting a direct OTT release on Disney + Hotstar.
Sadak 2 features Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role. Let’s see what the movie has to offer to us and will it recreate the magic that the original Sadak movie had.
The Big Bull (Disney + Hotstar)
Abhishek Bachchan, the starring movie ‘The Big Bull’, is also making an OTT release on Disney + Hotstar. The movie is directed by Kookie Gulati and under the production of Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit. The release date hasn’t yet announced.
‘The Big Bull’ narrates the life of Harshad Mehta involving in financial crimes to achieve his goals. Along with Abhishek Bachchan, Ileana D’Cruz and Soham Shah will be seen sharing the screen.
Lootcase (Disney + Hotstar)
Apart from the big-budget movies, the 2020 Bollywood comedy-drama film ‘Lootcase’ is also getting a digital release on Disney + Hotstar.
Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Dugal will be seen in the lead role.
Gunjan Saxena (Netflix)
Know the story of Gunjan Saxena?
Well, Dharma Production and Zee Studios’ collaboration film ‘Gunjan Saxena’ features Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
The story is inspired by the life of India’s first-ever woman Air Force officer to fly into a war zone during the 1999 Kargil War.
It’s an inspirational story and a tribute to her for exhibiting her bravery and valor.
So, the movie is coming soon on Netflix. I hope Janhvi Kapoor proved her acting skill in this film and shut up the trolls that every day is popping out on social media concerning ‘nepotism.’
Shakuntala Devi (Amazon Prime Videos)
Vidya Balan starring movie ‘Shakuntala Devi’ is a biographical film inspired by the life of late Shakuntala Devi, an Indian writer and an extraordinary person who can solve complex calculations and numerical within a second. She was given the name of ‘Human-Computer.’
Influenced by her story and life, filmmaker Anu Menon has made a film on her casting Vidya Balan as the titular role. After Gulabo Sitabo, Amazon Prime Video is soon going to release ‘Shakuntala Devi.’
Khaali Peeli (Netflix)
Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starring romantic action drama film ‘Khaali Peeli’ is said to be getting a direct OTT release on Netflix. There isn’t any date announced yet for release.
Ishaan Khatter has already shown his acting prowess to the audience through his very first film ‘Beyond the Clouds.’
Anurag Basu directorial film ‘Ludo’ is the upcoming dark comedy film produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anurag Basu. The movie has several actors narrating four different stories.
There isn’t any announcement of the release date yet, but it is confirmed the makers have decided to ditch the big screen and to go with the OTT release.
As per the reports, the movie will be streaming on Netflix.
With more and more movies are releasing digitally, I think the time isn’t far when multiplexes will be doomed if they don’t adapt themselves with the current time.
