We often get confused about ‘where to go for a vacation.’ The month of May is almost reaching the end, and the summer continues to dominate June too.
The dominant weather in India is summer, so people want to go on a vacation to the places where the weather is more relaxed, and the temperature is pleasant. With little planning and assistance, you can have a greatly enjoyable summer vacation in June.
So, here is a list of best places to visit in India in June which can offer you the much-needed respite from the summer.
Auli, Uttarakhand
Without any doubt, summer is the best time to visit the paradise named Auli, which is nestled in Uttarakhand. Although, winter is also an ideal time for visiting this hill station for snow enthusiasts. You can plan here at any time of the year depending on your preference.
But you won’t be able to experience any snow as mountains remain barren during this time of the year. But you can still enjoy the pleasant weather and can-do trekking if that interest you.

Sikkim
Sikkim is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in India. It has breathtaking ice-cold lakes, waterfalls, monasteries, and scenic drive that needs some guts.
For any adventurous traveler, Sikkim will always be his/her first on the list. Sikkim is situated in the North East part of India, which the people of North and South don’t precisely consider in their tourist destination list.
But unless you will go there and experience, you won’t understand why traveling here will build a beautiful memory.
North Sikkim could be challenging for a traveler as the area has rough terrain and weak infrastructure. But mostly visitors, love traveling to Gangtok and Pelling.
The best way to go to Sikkim is to fly to Bagdogra airport and from there rent a good cab and reach Gangtok.

Kullu Manali
Kullu Manali is one of the most visited tourist destinations in India during summer. It is an ideal travel destination for a family, honeymoon, backpackers, solo travelers, and road drives.
Kullu Manali has close proximity with endless waterfalls, temples, the Kullu valley is surrounded by pine forest and located at the Great Himalayan ranges. So, many beautiful things one will get at a single destination.
So, needless to say, I must add Kullu Manali on my list of lists of best places to visit in India in June (Summer).

Shillong
North East is the most neglected part of our country and Shillong is the less-traveled hill station in India. 80% of people of our country don’t have any idea of how beautiful the Northeastern states are.
Well, June is definitely the right month of the year when you can plan to visit Shillong. The temperature remains pleasant. You can visit and experience the North Eastern food and culture.
Shillong is named as ‘The Scotland of the East.’ Maybe on your next visit, you will understand.
Darjeeling
For any Bengali, Darjeeling is such a hill station which will always be the favorite. During May and June, folks around the West Bengal and nearby states mostly prefer to come here for respite from the scorching heat.
Also, the traveling cost in Darjeeling is cheaper, and it is ideal for a 3-4-day long trip.

Mahabaleshwar
Mahabaleshwar is a beautiful small hill station situated in Maharashtra. You have to go through another small hill station named Panchgani to reach Mahabaleshwar.
You can go on a 5-day long trip to Mahabaleshwar in June. This is the most popular place to go nearby Mumbai and Pune. The best way to enjoy Mahabaleshwar is by road.

Ooty
Ooty is an all year destination, which is situated in the Nilgiri hills and is considered as one of the best hill stations in South India. Although, for the past few years, Ooty has become overcrowded with tourist coming here throughout the year.
The small hill station is very well connected to railways and roadways. Also, the Nilgiri Mountain railway has been stated as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO.

If you are staying in the southern part of India, visiting Ooty in June would be an ideal choice.
Wayanad
Wayanad in Kerala is settled in the slopes of Western Ghats and is a land of exotic wilderness. It is also an internationally quite famous tourist destination in India.
Backpackers from the other countries come here to visit the beauty of nature that has bestowed on this place.
Waynad has a pleasing atmosphere throughout the year, the place will give you a different experience and feeling at each season.
Because it is situated in the Western Ghats, so I would say June to September would be challenging as an adventurous traveler. The weather remains windy and rainy, which is definitely troublesome, but Wayanad looks beautiful with mist covering the mountains.

Coorg
Coorg is also located in the slopes of the Western Ghats in the Karnataka state of India. With endless waterfalls, hills, and beautiful valleys, it is a widely known popular tourist destination in India.
If you are planning to go in Coorg this June, then push your dates by the end of the month. With the arrival of monsoon during that time, Coorg looks heavenly Scotland.

McLeodganj
Next on my list of best places to visit in India in June is ‘McLeodganj.’ Populated mainly by the Tibetans, McLeodganj remains cooler compared to the rest of the country.
April to June is the season of summer and this period is considered as the best for outdoor activities like trekking, hiking, paragliding.
This is also a hill station like the rest of the above mentioned, but McLeodganj has a different culture, it has inherited the Tibetan culture, which makes this place so unique.

Monsoon is definitely not the ideal time of the year to go. The next best time would be winter if you are a snow enthusiast.
But summer is the peak season so, you are advised to book your hotels a month or two ago.
Conclusion:
So, this is pretty much is my list of best places in India where you can plan your next trip for the next month (June).
So, overall the gist is, if you stay in the north then the preferable destination that you can choose is Auli, Kullu Manali and McLeodganj.
If you stay in the western part of India, then I have listed Mahabaleshwar for you.
If it is on the eastern side of the country, consider going to Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Shillong.
Last but not least, if you are staying in the Southern states and you prefer to go nearby, then the best would be Wayanad, Coonoor, and Coorg.
I hope you liked the list. Please comment and share with your friends and if you have any queries or want to contribute, please feel free to contact me.
