With an IMDB rating of 8.1, this movie in all way is one of the best travel movies so far.
The movie depicts the story of a young graduate fellow Christopher McCandless, who hitchhikes across America to reach Alaska.
He left all his possessions and traveled with one backpack, meeting new people on his way. The movie teaches you several things but also is a life-changing movie.
I perhaps, watched the movie 7-8 times, and each time it gives me ultimate satisfaction.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Streaming on YouTube)
Ben Stiller, as Walter Mitty, is a man living a dull and mundane city life with no goal or ambition. It is yet another one of the best travel movies you should watch to get motivated and inspired.
Walter Mitty daydreams of escaping his life and sets on an adventure-packed journey which he finally did.
The movie is thrilling, and somewhat we all can relate to it. Nobody wants to be stuck in a mundane humdrum of life, ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty tells us to follow dreams and take destiny in your hand.

Under the Tuscan Sun (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ is a charming movie. The movie is set in beautiful Italy with a wonderful cast and story.
The story revolves around a middle-aged woman, Frances, a divorced San Francisco writer looking for a change in her life.
Her decision lands her in Italy, where she decided to buy a house, and from here, it depicts her journey with the settlement in a new country amidst the new culture and people.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (Streaming on Netflix)
Zoya Akhtar’s directorial Bollywood film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is about three friends Kabir, Imran, and Arjun, who takes a bachelor’s vacation in Spain before Kabir’s marriage.
The trip ends their friendship, brings them closer, heal wounds, and made them fall in love with life.
It is a beautiful movie about love, friendship, and life where travel is an integral part of it. If you like travel movies, you should definitely watch this film too.

Dil Chahta Hai (Streaming on Netflix)
Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut Bollywood film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ is one of the first travel movies that Bollywood has brought to its audience.
The movie is somewhat similar to ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, which portrays three friends’ lives on their way to traveling.

If you are looking for a good French travel movie, only one name comes into my mind ‘Amelie.’
The film tells the story of a French waitress Amelie who led a gloomy childhood and wants some excitement in her life.
Her quest to spread happiness led her on a journey where she found her true love and the happiness of her life.
It is indeed one of the best international movies to watch that is nearly perfect in terms of screenplay, acting and story.

‘Out of Africa’ is a 1985 classic romantic drama film that depicts the journey of Karen, played by Meryl Streep, to Africa to meet her husband.
The story takes place around Africa, which is beautiful. I love and admire movies of Meryl Streep, her aura in each movie brings out so much positive energy.
This movie appreciates the nature of Africa, which might make you want to add Africa to your travel list.

The Motorcycle Diaries (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
‘The Motorcycle Diaries is a film based on the journal of medical student Che Guevera when he took a five-month motorcycle trip across South America with his friend Alberto Granado.
The movie shows his travel from Brazil to Peru with amazing landscape images and his insight about Latin America.

Wild (Streaming on Netflix)
The movie ‘Wild’ tells the journey of young Cheryl Strayed, played by Reese Witherspoon, who sets on a journey of 1,100-mile solo hike of the Pacific Crest Trail.
After losing her mother, her spoiled marriage, and her dysfunctional life, she wants to make a change and finds the true purpose of her life.
On her way to her journey, she felt lonely, depressed, and faced horror and delight led her to a wonderful journey of self-discovery.
After ‘Into the Wild,’ this is my second-best travel movie to stream.

Nomadland (Streaming on Disney+Hotstar)
Academy Award-winning film ‘Nomadland’ is such a thoughtful travel movie I watched a few days ago on Disney+Hotstar.
The film revolves around a woman in her sixties, Fern, who lost her husband, home, and money during the Great Recession.
She started living in a small affordable van, driving across West American, meeting people of similar age and background. The movie shows her intimate pain, discovering the joys of living on the road, driving around, and working.
Also, the pain of loneliness and desperation she felt at times. It is an extraordinary film that gives meaning to life through travel.
Frances McDormand as Fern is flawless in delivering her performance in the film.

Seven Years in Tibet (Streaming on Netflix)
The film ‘Seven Years in Tibet’ is the only film of Brad Pitt that I liked so much. It is a very meaningful and thoughtful film that reminds us of how traveling can transform your life and insight.
The movie tells the story of an Austrian mountaineer, Heinrich Harrer, played by Brad Pitt, who is captured and sent to a prison camp.
Five years later, he escaped and reached Lhasa, begins tutoring the young Dalai Lama, and living the life that changed him completely.
It is a quiet, enigmatic film to watch and get inspired.

Eat Pray Love (Streaming on Netflix)
Julia Roberts starring romantic drama movie ‘Eat Pray Love’ takes you in the life of protagonist Elizabeth Gilbert.
Recently divorced and shattered sets on a journey to find the meaning of life beyond what she was living for so long.
Her realization of self-discovery journey attained at each destination, and all those experiences transformed her life towards betterment.
It’s a simple, joy-filled film that captivates you in Elizabeth’s life. She travels around alone, searching for spirituality, food, peace, and adventure, leading to a beautiful life transformation.

Tamasha (Streaming on Netflix)
Bollywood movie ‘Tamasha’ is another travel-inspired film directed by Imtiaz Ali that one should watch. It is a tale of a young man named Ved living a dull monochromic city corporate life.
He escapes from that life and loves to become a different character when he travels.
He can be himself when he travels, and that transforms his life soon; he falls for a girl.
Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha will take you to some beautiful European destinations and landscapes.

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman’s starring film ‘The Bucket List’ is a wonderful film that reminds us to live life to the fullest.
The story revolves around two friends Jack Nicholson plays a corporate billionaire, and Morgan Freeman plays a mechanic; both are terminally ill, sharing the same ward.
Both decided to escape their life from the hospital and fulfill their bucket list of adventures before they die.
Their list of bucket list includes a number of places and things to do.

Two friends Dean and Marylou, set on an adventurous journey to travel around the United States and embrace how they encounter different people and how it changes their perspective towards life.
It’s a beautiful film to watch and understand how traveling helps change a person towards betterment.
It can be tough, you have to compromise, but traveling can give you life’s best lesson.

Midnight in Paris (Streaming on Netflix)
Owen Wilson starring romantic comedy film ‘Midnight in Paris’, tells the story of an aspiring Hollywood screenwriter who heads to Paris with his fiancée, played by Rachel McAdams.
Dealing with uncertainties and divergent goals, Gil mysteriously transported back to the 20s’ every evening at midnight and got inspired to follow his dreams.
The film will take you to Paris of a different era.

Queen (Streaming on Netflix)
‘Queen’ is one of the best Bollywood movies to watch, which is inspiring and women-oriented.
The film is directed by Vikas Bahl with Kangana Ranaut in the lead, tells the story of a small-town girl Rani who marriage gets broken off.
Shattered and disheartened, Rani decided to go on her pre-planned honeymoon alone to Europe.
Her traveling to Europe transforms her completely from a meek, under-confident girl to a smart, confident young lady who is no more dependent on anyone for her life.
Throughout her journey, she met new people, make friends, and sees the world from a new perspective.
