88 / 100

October starts the festive season of the year. Netflix each year releases several shows and movies for Halloween special. Even though Netflix has a wide array of horror movies and shows collection, I still wait for more in October.

This month I watched several more Netflix shows and movies as I had quite an amount of leisure time in hand. Among the many, I shall be recommending 11 Netflix shows and movies that you can watch for this month.

11 Netflix Shows and Movies to watch on October

The haunting of Bly Manor

Netflix’s original show “The Haunting of Bly Manor” is a unique conceptual horror story.

The nine-episode series revolves around an American au pair who got a job in the Bly Manor situated in England’s countryside. Her stay in the Bly manor with the children Flora and Miles, housekeeper Hannah, cook Owen, and gardener Jamie changed her life.

The Haunting of Bly Manor tells a story about human emotions deeply rooted in human psychology.

Though the Netflix show completely lacks fear and horror, the story itself is so good that it will touch your heart and soul.

Bad Boy Billionaires India

Netflix Original documentary series “Bad Boy Billionaires India” is a must-watch series because of its authenticity. It is an investigative docuseries about three business tycoons that explores these billionaires’ greed, fraud, and corruption.

The docuseries covered three businessman Vijay Mallaya, Nirav Modi, and Subrata Roy. Their life story, business success, and how they make everyone fool.

The Trial of the Chicago 7

“The Trail of the Chicago 7” is a Netflix original movie directed by Aaron Sorkin. The film is based on the 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy in the protest in Chicago in 1968. It is America’s one of the most controversial historical events.

The movie is intense, dramatic, and all the actors have given a noteworthy performance.

Kim’s Convenience

IMDB Rating: 8.2

I randomly started watching “Kim’s Convenience” Netflix show because of its cross-cultural theme. It is Canadian television sitcom about Korean-Canadian family runs a small convenience store and deal with customers.

The series is like an old school sitcom depicting a Korean Canadian family and how the old couple sees the world around them.

The show is funny, has a lot of humor extended, the characters are all likable. The old couple Mr. and Mrs. Kim, together are adorable. Overall, it is quite an enjoyable show to watch.

Emily in Paris

The latest American-comedy series “Emily in Paris” is worth watch show. The story revolves around Emily, an American woman who works in the marketing department and moves to Paris to give an American perspective in a marketing firm.

But to her least expectation, Paris isn’t what it looks like. She isn’t welcome in her French marketing firm as an American and her ideas. But at every point, she proves that she is the best in providing her American point of view in product promotions.

Overall, it is a fun-loving series to watch.

Hubie Halloween

It is always a pleasure to watch Adam Sandler’s movie. Netflix’s “Hubie Halloween” is the new Halloween themed movie starring Adam Sandler as the lead character.

On 31st October, Salem, Massachusetts, is all set to celebrate Halloween, but kind-hearted Hubie volunteers to save Salem’s citizen from any Halloween danger.

The movie is heart-warming, funny, and above all, Adam Sandler, as Hubie nailed it.

Enola Holmes

Millie Bobby Brown starring movie “Enola Holmes” is a delightful movie that I enjoyed watching at the beginning of the month. Enola, the youngest Holmes sibling, set out to solve her first case of finding her mother.

The movie is all about Enola and her adventure-seeking for the truth. After Stranger Things, I would say Millie Bobby Brown has performed exceedingly well in Netflix’s Enola Holmes.

David Attenborough (A Life on Our Planet)

Netflix’s original documentary film is based on reputed natural historian David Attenborough and his view on the changing Earth and animal kingdom over the decades.

He explained beautifully how important the animal kingdom and its existence on the Earth is. How rapidly human actions impact the climatic changes and why we should immediately stop the chopping down of trees and forest.

David Attenborough has very clearly and neatly explained the reasons for and consequences of the current climatic conditions and Earth.

Everyone should watch this amazing documentary film to understand the environment, which is our survival source.

Heidi

Amidst everything sometimes, I feel good when I watch kids’ shows. All the innocent and cute animated characters, the theme, and simplicity make me miss my childhood.

I watched the “Heidi” series on Netflix kids because it reminds me of my childhood days. Heidi is such an adorable little girl who lives in a village in the Swiss Alps with her grandfather in a chalet.

She is a friend with Peter and Rico, and together they heard the goats, milk them, wander around in the mountain valley, and help grandfather with chores. She has the purest heart, and she only thinks of the good in everyone.

This is a show that every parent should let watch their kids.

“Bureau of Magical Things” is a magical fantasy genre of series when teenage girl Kyra accidentally discovers her magical powers and joined the fairies and elves. She slowly unveils the extraordinary world of magic and trying to balance with her real world.

It is a fun series to watch in my experience.
